According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2018, the exports of goods decreased by 3% and imports increased by 4% compared to March 2017. In the first quarter of the current year, exports increased by 6% and imports by 2%, compared to the same period of 2017.

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2016, the exports of goods increased by 6% and imports by 7% compared to November 2015. The rise in exports was influenced the most by an increase in the exportation of wood and articles of wood and mechanical appliances and the rise in imports by an increase in the importation of base metals and articles of base metal.
The biggest share of part-time employees can be found among women with children aged up to 2 years

In 2010, part-time working was influenced both by employees’ gender and age of their children, the biggest share of part-time employees were among women with children aged up to 2 years. This has been proved in Statistics Estonia’s publication “Man’s home is the world, woman’s world is her home?”

The experts will evaluate the production of official statistics in Estonia against the quality requirements of Eurostat (the statistical office of the European Union) and against the European Statistics Code of Practice.

According to Statistics Estonia, 21.1% of the Estonian population, i.e. nearly 276,000 persons lived in relative poverty in 2016. The percentage of people living in relative poverty decreased 0.6 percentage points compared to the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2016, the exports of goods decreased by 6% and imports by 4% compared to July of the previous year. The fall in the exports and imports of goods was influenced the most by the trade with European Union countries.
In January exports and imports of goods declined sharply

According to Statistics Estonia, in January exports of goods in current prices totalled 7.2 billion kroons and imports 8.8 billion kroons. Compared to January of the previous year, exports declined by 29% and imports 36%. The decrease in value of exports and imports began already in November 2008.
In August, the trade deficit was at the lowest level of this year

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2016, the exports of goods increased by 12% and imports by 8% compared to August of the previous year. Export growth was faster than import growth and reduced the trade deficit, which was at the lowest level of this year.
