Long-term unemployment has significantly decreased

According to Statistics Estonia, the unemployment rate was 6.5% and the employment rate was 65.1% in the 2nd quarter of 2015. Compared to the second quarters of the previous years, the number of long-term unemployed persons fell under 20,000 for the first time after the recession.

User surveys

Since 1996 the Statistical Office conducts reputation surveys and user surveys. The survey is conducted at least once a year, the existing as well as potential consumers are interviewed. The aims of user surveys are: to find out the reputation of the Statistical Office among consumers, to find out the need for statistical information, to study the consumers’ preferences in using various statistical products, to get the necessary information for production development. New trade record was set in April

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2011, the exports of goods from Estonia amounted to 1.1 billion euros and imports to Estonia to 1.2 billion euros at current prices. Exports as well as imports of goods exceeded the highest turnover so far or the turnover of March this year. The growth in trade was significantly influenced by the machinery and equipment and mineral products.

Production volumes fell in more than a half of manufacturing activities

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2020, the production of industrial enterprises decreased by 2% compared to November 2019. In the three main industrial sectors, production fell by 1% in manufacturing and by 12% in energy production, but grew by 2% in mining.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2014 the production of industrial enterprises grew 2% compared to the previous year. Production increased 4% in manufacturing, but decreased nearly 6% in mining and energy.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2020, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 665 million euros. Compared to October 2019, turnover increased by 6% at constant prices.
