The results of Statistics Estonia's Tourism Survey of 2022 show that Estonian residents made over a million outbound overnight trips last year, which is 90% more than in 2021. The number of overnight domestic trips was nearly 2.6 million – 16% more than the year before. In 2022, the expenditures on outbound trips amounted to over 1 billion euros and the expenditures on domestic trips to more than 178 million euros.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2018, the production of electricity totalled 12 terawatt hours, which is 6% less than in the previous year. Electricity production from renewable sources increased by 8%.
According to Statistics Estonia, in April, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 844 million euros. Compared with April 2022, turnover decreased by 11% at constant prices.

This year, the Albert Pullerits young statistician’s grant was awarded to Papuna Gogoladze for the master’s thesis defended at the School of Economics and Business Administration of the University of Tartu. The aim of the grant is to motivate young people to apply and develop statistical methods.
According to Statistics Estonia, in July, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased 6.4% at constant prices compared with July 2021. Output rose in one of the three sectors – up 5.2% in electricity production – but fell 6.4% in manufacturing and 17.5% in mining.
According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2018, domestic and foreign tourists staying in accommodation establishments numbered 251,000, which is 3% less than in April 2017. The number of foreign tourists decreased, while the number of domestic tourists stayed at the level of the previous year.
