Helga Laurmaa, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that 95,000 foreign and 110,000 domestic tourists were accommodated in Estonia in January 2025. Year on year, the number of domestic tourists fell, as it did in several months in 2024. The number of tourists in January 2025 was 8% smaller than in January of 2020, the last pre-pandemic peak month. “Compared with the January before the crisis, there were 15,000 more domestic tourists accommodated, while the number of foreign tourists was lower by 33,000,” added Laurmaa. 30,000 tourists arrived from Finland, representing 32% of all

Since the first quarter of 2023, Statistics Estonia uses the data from the employment register of the Tax and Customs Board and the income and social tax declarations to publish the average wages and salaries. According to Statistics Estonia, in 2019, there were 82,500 amateurs of folk culture in Estonia. 59,000 of them sang in choirs or danced in folk dance groups. The most folk culture amateurs per thousand inhabitants were in Võru county and the least in Ida-Viru county.

Since 2014, 73,400 foreign citizens have become e-residents of Estonia. 20% of these e-residents have participated in founding a business and over 14,200 businesses have been registered in Estonia with their participation. We looked into where e-residents come from and what are the activities of their Estonian enterprises.
