According to the flash estimates of Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia decreased 1.9% in the 1st quarter of 2014 compared to the 1st quarter of 2013.

The 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011), which began in the first minutes of 31 December, has had a flying start – during the first 24 hours, online questionnaires were completed on more than 26,000 persons. The census questionnaires can be completed online until the end of January.

A cartoon has been created in cooperation between the website lastekas.ee and Statistics Estonia. It features the popular cartoon character Bunny Juss and his family who tell the children about the Population and Housing Census, which begins on this Saturday, 31 December.
