According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the construction price index in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was 0.3% compared to the 1st quarter of 2019, and 2.0% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, noted that the biggest decline at 4% was registered in the turnover volume of stores selling manufactured goods. In grocery stores, the volume of turnover was down by 3%. “However, the turnover volume of enterprises engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel increased by 2% last year,” added Pihlak. According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2019, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and abroad decreased by 1% year on year. Similarly to the first half of the year, construction volume increased in foreign countries but decreased in Estonia.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2019, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and foreign countries increased by 3% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2018. Similarly to the 1st quarter, construction volume increased due to work done in foreign countries, whereas construction volume on the domestic market decreased.

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the construction price index in the 1st quarter of 2019 was 0.5% compared to the 4th quarter of 2018, and 2.0% compared to the 1st quarter of 2018.
