The Statistical Council, formed by the order of the Government of the Republic, convened on 26 November. At the meeting, the results of the second trial census of the population and housing census were presented. The Statistical Council supports the decision of Statistics Estonia to combine the register-based census with sample surveys.
According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2012 the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.6 % compared to July 2012 and by 2.2% compared to August of the previous year.
According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2015, the producer price index of industrial output changed by -0.6% compared to March 2015 and by -1,3% compared to April 2014.
According to Statistics Estonia, 154,000 tourists stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments in September, with a total of 285,000 nights spent. The number of tourists decreased by nearly a half year on year.
According to Statistics Estonia, 64%, i.e. the majority of the value added generated in the Estonian economy in 2016 was created in Harju county. The share of the service sector continues to grow, having increased in 2016 by more than 2 percentage points in most counties.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2011, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 792 euros (12,397 kroons) and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 4.87 euros (76.20 kroons). Compared to the 1st quarter of 2010, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 4.5% higher and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 2.3% higher.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 12,716 kroons and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 77.16 kroons. Compared to the 2nd quarter of the previous year, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 4.4% lower and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 1.4% lower.
