The value of travel insurance policies taken out in Estonia was 25.7 million euros in 2023, and 22.4 million euros in 2022. How common is travel insurance in Estonia? According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2024, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 5.8% at constant prices compared with July last year. Among the three main sectors, output increased by 16.9% in mining and by 16.3% in electricity production but decreased by 7.8% in manufacturing.

Helle Bunder, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, pointed out that, as in the first half of the year, when the volume of manufacturing declined by 6%, the fall continued at the same rate in August. “Also, as in the previous months, the volume of industrial production was down in two thirds of the manufacturing activities,” Bunder added. Epp Remmelg, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the at-risk-of-poverty rate reflects income inequality in a country. “People at risk of poverty are not living in outright deprivation, but they cannot afford the standard of living that is considered normal in society,” the analyst noted.
