According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2019, the Dwelling Price Index changed by 8.1% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2018 and by 2.4% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2019.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2019, the Dwelling Price Index changed by 5.9% compared to the 1st quarter of the previous year. In yearly comparison, the Dwelling Price Index has shown an upward trend for the past nine years. Compared to the 4th quarter of 2018, the Dwelling Price Index changed by 1.7%.

“In the third quarter, overall labour market indicators improved compared with both the third quarter of last year and the second quarter of this year,” stated Tea Vassiljeva, analyst at Statistics Estonia. She added that there were a total of 54,200 unemployed persons in the third quarter, which is 5,000 fewer than in the second quarter and 2,100 fewer than in the third quarter of last year. The unemployment rate (7.1%), i.e. the share of the unemployed in the labour force, was 0.3 percentage points lower in the third quarter than in the same quarter last year (7.4%) and 0.7 percentage points

Data from the 2021 census show that the share of people with higher education in Estonia is increasing and the share of people with basic education is decreasing. A fifth of the inhabitants in Estonia have a master's degree, and Tartu and Viimsi stand out for their particularly high concentration of highly educated people.

According to Statistics Estonia, starting today, 16 August, until Thursday, employees from the statistical institution of Bosnia-Herzegovina will be familiarising themselves with Estonia’s experience in organising population censuses, and with the preparatory work taking place for the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011).

Eveli Šokman, team lead of producer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that, compared with April 2024, the producer price index was most affected by price increases in the manufacture of wood and wood products, in electricity and heat energy production, and in the manufacture of food products. “Falling prices in the manufacture of fuel oils and paper and paper products had the opposite effect on the index. Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the rise in retail trade volume in June was influenced by stores selling manufactured goods and by enterprises engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel – the turnover volume of each was up by 12% year on year. “However, the turnover volume of grocery stores continued to decline, falling by 4% compared with June last year,” Pihlak added. Among stores selling manufactured goods, the biggest increase at 22% was registered in the turnover volume of other specialised stores selling predominantly computers and their accessories

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in July 2020 was 0.0% compared to June 2020 and -0.9% compared to July 2019. Goods were 0.2% and services 2.0% cheaper.

Johanna Linda Pihlak, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the increase in the volume of retail trade turnover in September was due to stores selling manufactured goods and grocery stores. “Stores selling manufactured goods had the biggest impact as their turnover volume grew for the third month in a row and was up by 5% in September year on year,” noted Pihlak.
