According to Statistics Estonia, in 2018, Estonian transport enterprises served as many passengers as in 2017, whereas freight volume in tonnes increased by 2%.

Today, on 1 August, Statistics Estonia launches the Foreign Visitors Survey at the border crossing points of Estonia. The survey will be held until the middle of September and aims to determine the expenditures incurred by foreign visitors in Estonia, their travel motivation and behaviour, and satisfaction.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2012, the number of passengers served by the Estonian transport enterprises and passenger turnover increased 17% and 7%, respectively. The freight capacity decreased nearly 4% in tonnes as well as in tonne-kilometres.

Estonian economic entities exported and imported services for 1.6 billion euros. The imports of services increased mainly on account of growth in telecommunications, computer and information services.

The number of passengers increased in sea and rail transport, but decreased in road and air transport. Carriage of goods increased in road transport, but decreased in rail transport.

Today, on 17 October, Statistics Estonia and Enterprise Estonia launch the second stage of the Foreign Visitors Survey that started at the border crossing points of Estonia in the summer. The second stage will last until the middle of December.
