In the second quarter of 2025, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were the highest in Tallinn (€2,479), in Harju county (€2,365), and in Tartu county (€2,175). “Compared with the second quarter of last year, the biggest increase in wages and salaries was seen in Põlva county (7.7%) and Rapla county (7%). Sigrid Saagpakk, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that, in the first quarter of 2025, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were the highest in Tallinn (2,384 euros) and in Harju (2,263 euros) and Tartu (2,023 euros) counties. “Compared with the first quarter of last year, the biggest increase in wages was seen in Tartu (7.2%) and Ida-Viru (6.9%) counties. The rise in average monthly wages was the slowest in Harju county, excluding Tallinn – 4.8%,” noted Saagpakk. Helga Laurmaa, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that 108,000 foreign and 109,000 domestic tourists were accommodated in Estonia in March 2025. “The number of foreign tourists was 7% lower than in March last year and it was also smaller compared with March 2019 (down by 13%),” explained Laurmaa.
