According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2019, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and in foreign countries amounted to 3.2 billion euros, which is 3% more than in 2018. Taking into account only Estonian construction market, construction volume stayed at the level of the previous year.

Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, pointed out that the decline in the volume of retail trade turnover in November was most affected by grocery stores, as their turnover volume decreased by 4% year on year. “The turnover volume of stores selling manufactured goods, however, continued to grow in November, increasing by 2% compared with the same period last year,” Pihlak noted. Robert Müürsepp, team lead of national accounts at Statistics Estonia, noted that the economy, which has been falling for ten quarters in a row, is showing signs of improvement, but the biggest changes are still on the negative side. “Among the activities, construction had a strong negative impact on the economy, as did manufacturing. The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased by 1.0% in August 2024 compared with July and by 1.7% compared with August last year.

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the construction price index in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was 0.3% compared to the 1st quarter of 2019, and 2.0% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2018.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2019, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and foreign countries increased by 3% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2018. Similarly to the 1st quarter, construction volume increased due to work done in foreign countries, whereas construction volume on the domestic market decreased.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2019, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and abroad decreased by 1% year on year. Similarly to the first half of the year, construction volume increased in foreign countries but decreased in Estonia.

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2024, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 892 million euros. Compared with July 2023, the volume of retail trade turnover fell by 2%.
