According to Statistics Estonia, 337,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in June 2023, the same as in June last year. The number of foreign tourists increased, while the number of domestic tourists decreased.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, on 1 January 2024, the population of Estonia was 1,366,491, which is 607 persons more than at the same time a year ago. In 2023, there were 10,721 births and 15,832 deaths in Estonia. Based on the data on registered migration, 20,209 persons immigrated to Estonia and 14,491 persons emigrated from Estonia. Compared with a year earlier, the number of births, deaths and immigrants has fallen, while the number of emigrants has risen.

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that, in July, exports of goods grew primarily due to re-exports, i.e., the re-exports of previously imported goods increased by 26%. “The re-exports of mineral products (incl. natural gas) and transport equipment rose the most,” the analyst added. Statistics Estonia will sell some of the mobile phones used in the 2011 Population and Housing Census through public auction. A total of 720 mobile phones that were used by the enumerators will be put up for an electronic auction.
