Today, on 10 January the Government of the Republic approved the list of statistical actions for the years 2013–2017. In 2013, Statistics Estonia will organise over 200 statistical actions.

According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the second quarter, Estonia’s exports of services grew by 46% and imports of services by 125% year on year. Exports and imports of services amounted to 1.8 billion euros. Foreign trade in services was affected the most by growth in telecommunications, computer and information services, and transport services.

According to Statistics Estonia, in August, Estonia’s exports of goods amounted to 1.5 billion and imports to 1.8 billion euros. Compared with the same month in 2022, exports of goods decreased by 22% and imports by 19% at current prices. The trade deficit in in August was 293 million euros, which is 7 million euros less than a year earlier.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2023, Estonia’s exports and imports of goods decreased by 15% and 12%, respectively, compared with March 2022. In the first quarter as a whole, both exports and imports of goods fell by 8%.

According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2009 the Estonian general government sector deficit was 1.7% and gross debt level was 7.2% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In the 4th quarter the Estonian general government sector surplus was 4.3 billion kroons.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 35% and imports by 31% compared to March 2021. Compared to the first quarter of last year, exports grew by 30% and imports by 34%. Compared with October 2022, exports of goods decreased by 21% and imports by 17% at current prices. The trade deficit in October was 307 million euros, which is 24 million euros more than a year earlier.
