The production value of Estonian construction enterprises in 2024 was 3.9 billion euros, including 2.4 billion euros’ worth of building construction and 1.5 billion euros’ worth of civil engineering. According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) fell by 2.4% year on year. The GDP at current prices was 9.3 billion euros.

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in August 2018 was 0.5% compared to July 2018 and 3.6% compared to August of the previous year.

Eveli Šokman, team lead of producer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that, compared with September 2023, the producer price index was most affected by price decreases in electricity and heat energy production and in the manufacture of fuel oils. “Rising prices in the manufacture of wood and wood products, repair of machinery and equipment, and manufacture of electronic equipment had the opposite effect on the index. Statistics Estonia has revised the entire time series of gross domestic product (GDP) starting from 1995. During the revision, updated basic data sources were incorporated and methodological improvements were made.

Piret Pukk, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that Estonian residents have been travelling more in recent years but are still not making as many trips as before the pandemic, especially as concerns outbound trips. “Last year, the number of domestic trips was again over two times bigger than the number of outbound trips. Riin Kadarik, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that manufacturing output declined in March, similarly to February. “The decline was mainly due to the 4.1% decrease in the manufacture of food products. The output of the manufacture of food products has fallen for three months now – the year-on-year decrease was 6.9% in January and 5.3% in February.
