Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that compared with October 2023, the growth in foreign trade in October 2024 was the highest this year. “Re-exports of goods increased by 5% in October, while exports of goods of Estonian origin grew by as much as 17%. Statistics Estonia has begun preparations for conducting the register-based Population and Housing Census (REGREL) of 2020. Next year’s Census will be the last where the entire population is interviewed.

Starting today, 15 December, Statistics Estonia will send out information leaflets on the Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011) beginning on 31 December. The leaflets will be delivered to all mailboxes of private individuals in Estonia – with the help of Estonian Post, the leaflets will reach more than 650,000 mailboxes.

Today, in the first minutes of 31 December, the eleventh Population and Housing Census began in Estonia. Until the end of January, residents can participate in the Census online, since mid-February enumerators will be visiting homes.

According to Statistics Estonia, in June, exports of goods increased by 26% and imports by 45% year on year. In the second quarter as a whole, exports grew by 41% and imports by 49% year on year.
