According to Statistics Estonia, in July, the consumer price index increased by 0.3% compared with June and by 3.4% compared with July 2023. Goods were 1.7% and services 6.3% more expensive than in July last year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2022, the Dwelling Price Index increased by 8% compared with the first quarter of 2022 and by 27.4% compared with the second quarter of 2021.

240,700 foreign and 218,500 domestic tourists were accommodated in Estonia in August. Foreign tourists accounted for a slightly bigger share (52%) than domestic tourists (48%). Lauri Veski, team lead of consumer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that the biggest impact on the consumer price index in 2024 came from price increases related to food and non-alcoholic beverages, which accounted for 23.7% of the total index rise. Eveli Šokman, the producer price statistics service manager at Statistics Estonia, said that, year on year, the producer price index declined in December after three months of trending upwards. “Compared with December 2024, the index was affected the most by falling prices in the manufacture of fuel oils and in electricity and heat energy production. Piret Pukk, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that while Estonian residents have been travelling more in the post-pandemic years, they did less travelling in 2025. “Last year, the number of overnight domestic trips was still more than two times bigger than the number of outbound trips.
