How did the Estonian society respond to the measures implemented during the emergency situation? Did people stay more local? Statistics Estonia, in co-operation with mobile network operators, analysed, based on anonymous mobile phone data, the mobility of people before and during the emergency situation. The project lasted from 20 February to 17 May 2020.

The focus of the global goal “Clean Water and Sanitation” is the need to ensure that people have clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene conditions. Lack of quality and adequate water supply and sanitation affects reaching other global goals such as healthcare, promoting education and reducing poverty. The 2030 Agenda sets the target to improve water and sanitation systems to ensure access to quality drinking water and adequate wastewater treatment. Economic growth in Estonia increased significantly

Economic growth in Estonia was broad-based. In the previous years, the growth was largely due to internal consumption, whereas in 2017, the growth became more broad‑based. The role of household consumption decreased. After years of decline, investments began to increase again as a result of improved economic climate, indicating a positive mind-set of entrepreneurs.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2021, there were 11,518 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. This number increased by a third year on year. More than 8,500 persons left their jobs on the employer’s initiative.

In July, turnover of retail trade enterprises grew by 10%
