In March 2021, the producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, decreased by 0.2% compared to February 2021 and increased by 4.8% compared to March 2020.

According to Statistics Estonia, there were about 9,500 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 2nd quarter of 2016. According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 26% and imports by 24% compared with June 2021. Compared with the second quarter of last year, exports grew by 21% and imports by 30%. In June and in the second quarter as a whole, trade was primarily boosted by the increased exports and imports of mineral fuels and electricity and wood and articles of wood.

Census data show that 58% of the population was employed at the end of 2021, which is 6 percentage points more than 10 years ago. The increase is mainly due to persons of retirement age, but also slightly to the unemployed and students.
