The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased by 4.2% in April 2023 compared with April 2022 and decreased by 0.7% compared with March 2023.

According to Statistics Estonia, an estimated 80% of the population aged 20–64 participated in adult education in the previous year*. Participation in adult education is higher among women, younger age groups, people with higher educational attainment, and native speakers of Estonian. According to Statistics Estonia, the average monthly gross wages and salaries in the second quarter of 2023 were 1,873 euros, which is 12.4% higher than in the same quarter last year. The median wages were 1,524 euros in the second quarter this year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2023, Estonia’s exports and imports of goods decreased by 15% and 12%, respectively, compared with March 2022. In the first quarter as a whole, both exports and imports of goods fell by 8%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2021, the gross hourly earnings of female employees were 14.9% smaller than the earnings of male employees. The gender pay gap decreased by 0.7 percentage points year on year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2023, exports and imports of goods at current prices decreased by 9% and 1% respectively, compared with the same month in 2022. Estonia’s exports of goods amounted to 1.5 billion and imports to 1.8 billion euros at current prices. The trade deficit was 272 million euros, up by 127 million euros from a year earlier.

According to Statistics Estonia, in June, Estonia’s exports of goods amounted to 1.6 billion and imports to 1.9 billion euros. Compared with June 2022, exports of goods decreased by 14% and imports by 13% at current prices. The trade deficit in June was 271 million euros, which is 33 million euros less than in the same month last year.
