According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2018, the Dwelling Price Index changed by 1.1% compared to the 1st quarter and by 7.4% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Robert Müürsepp, team lead of national accounts at Statistics Estonia, said that, compared with the previous quarter, the economy was stable. “Compared with the second quarter of 2024, the seasonally and working-day adjusted GDP was up by 0.1%,” noted Müürsepp. According to Eurostat , the EU economy showed slightly faster growth in the third quarter, as the increase in GDP was 0.9% year on year. Eveli Šokman, team lead of producer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that producer prices in manufacturing as a whole increased for the second month in a row – by 0.7% in October and by 0.8% in September. “Compared with October 2023, the producer price index was most affected by higher prices in the manufacture of wood and wood products, in the repair of machinery and equipment, and in the manufacture of electronic equipment. “Last year, the average number of museum visits per person in Estonia was 1.9. The highest museum attendance was seen in Saare and Lääne counties, where there were respectively 4.1 and 3.9 museum visits per person. In Tallinn, the city with the most museums, the average number of visits per person stood at 2.9. According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in August 2020 was 0.6% compared to July 2020 and -0.9% compared to August 2019. Compared to last year’s August, goods were 0.3% and services 2.0% cheaper.

Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that retail trade volume started to grow again in January this year and the growth continued in February. “The growth rate, however, was slightly slower in February than in January,” she added. According to Statistics Estonia, by preliminary data, the population number in Estonia was 1,316,500 on 1 January 2012. The decline in the estimated population in 2011 was influenced by the decrease in the number of births as well as by the increase of emigration.

Sigrid Saagpakk, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the average monthly gross wages and salaries in 2024 were the highest in Tallinn (€2,325) and in Harju (€2,218) and Tartu (€1,995) counties. “Compared with 2023, the biggest increase in wages and salaries was seen in Hiiu (9.9%) and Ida-Viru (9.7%) counties. Wages and salaries rose by more than 6.5% in all Estonian counties,” the analyst stated. Helle Bunder, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that, in November, the volume of industrial production increased in more than half of the manufacturing activities. “Looking at the larger industries, output increased in the manufacture of food products (7.8%), fabricated metal products (5.8%) and electrical equipment (20%) and, to a smaller degree, also in the manufacture of computers and electronic products (0.9%),” noted Bunder.
