According to Statistics Estonia, on 1 January 2018, there were 718,600 dwellings in Estonia, of which nearly 76%, or 542,500, were occupied. Of these, 99.1% were conventional dwellings and other housing units, and 0.9% were collective living quarters.

The international Survey of Adult Skills (PIAAC), which aims to collect data on people’s everyday competencies such as literacy, numeracy, information-seeking, use of computers and information technology, as well as their education and work experience, begins today. According to Statistics Estonia*, 93.2% of households in Estonia have an internet connection at home. The number of households with an internet connection has increased by 13,000 compared with the previous year, when there were 533,300 such households. There are also more users of e-commerce.

According to Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 2.9% in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the same quarter a year earlier. The GDP at current prices amounted to 9.4 billion euros.

Statistics Estonia wishes to make the transmission and reporting of data more automatic in order to decrease the data submission burden of enterprises.
