According to Statistics Estonia, in 2019, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia at current prices was 28 billion euros. Harju county accounted for 18 billion euros of the GDP, whereas the city of Tallinn contributed 15 billion euros in that county.

The next population and housing census in Estonia will, for the first time in Estonian history, take place on the basis of registers, i.e. no information is asked from people directly, the results are put together based on the data stored in state databases. This is what gave the census the name Register-Based Population and Housing Census (with the abbreviation REGREL in Estonian).
Statistics Estonia to start negotiations on resuming mobility analysis

According to the guidelines of the Government of the Republic, Statistics Estonia is starting negotiations with mobile network operators to resume mobility analysis that was conducted last spring. The goal of the planned mobility analysis is to help evaluate the impact of adopted measures on the movement of people, direct communication and surveillance resources in Estonian regions and assess change in the risk of infection. Statistics Estonia used the same methodology for conducting mobility analysis during the emergency situation in spring 2020.
The increase in average monthly gross wages and salaries accelerated slightly in the 3rd quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2013, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 930 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 5.58 euros. Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2012, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased 8.8% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries increased 7.1%.
At-risk-of-poverty rate is highest among the elderly, while among families with children it is highest for single parents (corrected on 09.12.2022)

According to Statistics Estonia, 22.8% of Estonia’s population lived at risk of poverty and 1.4% in absolute poverty in 2021. Compared with 2020, the share of people living at risk of poverty rose 2.2% and the share of people living in absolute poverty fell 0.8%.
