The consumer price index uses weights reflecting the average expenditure structure of Estonian residents, while the harmonised index of consumer prices also takes into account tourists and is comparable to the international HICP. “Based on the preliminary estimate, the HICP was affected by the rising prices of food products and also by the higher prices of holiday trips and accommodation, although the latter is likely to be a temporary trend.
