Estonia produces 71% of the meat consumed here

According to Statistics Estonia, 76,500 tonnes of meat were produced in Estonia in 2024, which is 1% more than the year before. The average annual meat production was 56 kg per person. Including imported meat, a total of 78 kg of meat per person were consumed during the year. 71% of the meat consumed in Estonia in 2024 was locally produced.

In 2014, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,005 euros

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2014, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,005 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 6.14 euros. Compared to 2013, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 5.9% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries by 7.2%.

In the 1st quarter, there were 7,300 job vacancies

According to Statistics Estonia, there were 7,300 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 1st quarter of 2015. The number of job vacancies increased by 0.6% compared to the previous quarter and by 1.3% compared to the 1st quarter of 2014.

Electricity production decreased last year

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2014, the production of electricity totalled 12.4 terawatt-hours, which is over 6% less than in the previous year. Electricity production  from renewable sources increased nearly 13% compared to 2013.

In April, the growth in retail sales decelerated slightly

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2015 compared to April of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 6% at constant prices. While in March retail sales increased 8% compared to the same month of the previous year, then in April the growth in retail sales decelerated slightly.

Construction volumes decreased in the 1st quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2015 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and foreign countries decreased 3%.
