According to Statistics Estonia, in 2016, a household member spent an average of 408 euros per month, which is 13 euros more than in 2015. Compulsory expenditure, i.e. unavoidable food and dwelling expenses, accounted for 40% of the household budget, remaining at the level of the previous year.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, the production of milk amounted to 799,300 tons in 2014, which is 4% more than the year earlier. The number of dairy cows decreased by the end of the year, but milk production per cow increased.

According to Statistics Estonia, the preliminary estimate of the population of Estonia as at 1 January 2018 was 1,318,700, which is 3,070 persons more than at the same time a year ago.

Due to the requirements of the Integrated European Social Statistics (IESS) regulation, as of 2021, the Estonian Labour Force Survey is based on a new methodology. The main goal of the changes is to improve data quality. Statistics Estonia will publish the data of the 1st quarter of 2021, calculated according to the new methodology, in its database on 17 May.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2016, exports of goods decreased by 3% and imports by 1% compared to March of the previous year. In the 1st quarter exports decreased 2% and imports increased 1%.

According to the data of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011), 388,077 persons or 30% of Estonian residents suffered from some long-term illness or health problem. People with higher education suffer from long-term illnesses on average two times less than persons with basic or lower education.
