Survey reveals whether adults in Estonia are as clever as our children

The international Survey of Adult Skills (PIAAC), which aims to collect data on people’s everyday competencies such as literacy, numeracy, information-seeking, use of computers and information technology, as well as their education and work experience, begins today. Industrial production took a downturn in September

According to Statistics Estonia, in September, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 7.5% at constant prices compared with September 2021. Output increased in just one of the three sectors – by 3.5% in electricity production. Production fell by 7.6% in manufacturing and by 27.1% in mining.

Trade grew by over 40% in August year on year

According to Statistics Estonia, in August, exports of goods increased by 46% and imports by 40% year on year. Trade growth was significantly influenced by the increase in the exports and imports of mineral fuels and wood and articles of wood.

Milk production increased year-on-year

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, the production of milk amounted to 807,500 tonnes in 2018, which is 2% more than the year before. The number of dairy cows decreased by the end of the year, but the average milk yield per cow increased.
