According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2018, domestic and foreign tourists who stayed in accommodation establishments numbered 276,000, which is 2% fewer than in September 2017. Compared to September of the previous year, the number of both domestic and foreign tourists decreased.

The economy grew 0.6% in the 2nd quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2014, exports of goods increased by 1% and imports decreased by 1% at current prices compared to June of the previous year. In the first half-year of this year, the decrease in exports and imports was mostly influenced by a fall in the trade of electrical equipment and transport equipment.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2018, domestic and foreign tourists staying in accommodation establishments numbered 239,000, which is 5% more than in March 2017. The number of both domestic and foreign tourists increased.

According to Statistics Estonia, the unemployment rate was 6.6% and the employment rate was 63.3% in the 1st quarter of 2015. Compared to the first quarters of the previous years, the labour force participation rate was at the highest level of the last 15 years.

Final list of the holdings whom Statistics Estonia expects to submit data at the 2010 Agricultural Census was completed by the beginning of August. The Agricultural Census will be conducted from 1 September to 15 November.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2018, there were approximately 11,400 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2018, the number of job vacancies increased by 8%. However, compared to the 2nd quarter of 2017, the number of job vacancies decreased by 5%. The number of job vacancies has exceeded 10,000 since the 1st quarter of 2017.

From 16–18 June the expert group of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) will be visiting Statistics Estonia in order to elaborate the report estimating the ability of Estonia to meet the statistical requirements for joining the OECD.
