On 30 December, Statistics Estonia starts a month-long test survey of the Population and Housing Census to check readiness for the big census. Around 2,000 persons are included in the main rehearsal of the population census.

Today, in the first minutes of 31 December, the eleventh Population and Housing Census began in Estonia. Until the end of January, residents can participate in the Census online, since mid-February enumerators will be visiting homes.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2010, 30,979 purchase-sale transactions of real estate in the total value of 1.2 billion euros (18.8 billion kroons) were notarised.
