According to Statistics Estonia, 691 tons of pesticides (by active substance) were placed on the market in Estonia in 2015, which was 15% more than in the previous year. The quantity of sold pesticides has been increasing in the last five years.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the midnight of 31 March the pilot Census of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011) came to an end, in the course of which, according to preliminary data, a total of 12,531 persons were enumerated. For the first time, the people could enumerate themselves via the Internet.
Today, on 3 December, Statistics Estonia presents the publication “Eesti rahvastik. Hinnatud ja loendatud” (“Population of Estonia. Estimated and enumerated”), which summarises the results of the last population census and provides comparisons with other countries of the European Union.
According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2015, the production of industrial enterprises decreased 2% compared to May of the previous year. Production decreased in manufacturing and mining as well as in energy production.

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2016, the production of industrial enterprises increased 1% compared to April of the previous year. Production increased in the energy sector and manufacturing, but decreased in mining and quarrying.
In 2017, there were approximately 158,000 economically active units. 3,000 units were added, which is as many as in 2016. Considering legal form, the picture looks different – growth in the number of companies picked up and the number of non-profit associations decreased for the first time.
Statistics Estonia reminds that there are only a few days left when the population can participate in the e-census and recommends not leaving it for the last moment. The census can be completed online only until 31 January late hours.
