According to Statistics Estonia, in April, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 844 million euros. Compared with April 2022, turnover decreased by 11% at constant prices.

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2021, the total production of industrial enterprises increased by 11% year on year. Production increased in all three main industrial sectors: by 19% in mining, by 14% in energy production and by 10% in manufacturing.

In June, the number of tourists was bigger than last year but still two times smaller than before the crisis

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2021, Estonian accommodation establishments served 216,000 tourists, which is almost a third more than in June last year. There were more domestic tourists and fewer foreign tourists, but the total number of accommodated guests was significantly lower than in 2019 before the coronavirus crisis.

Statistical thresholds In 2023, the statistical threshold for the dispatches of goods is 270,000 euros (last year, it was 200,000 euros). It means that, in 2023, Intrastat data have to be submitted by those enterprises whose turnover of goods dispatched to European Union countries exceeded 270,000 euros in 2022. If enterprises exceed the statistical threshold in 2023, they will also have to submit Intrastat data. The statistical threshold for the arrivals of goods is 400,000 euros (the same as last year). At the end of the year, on 28 December, the Population and Housing Census, conducted every ten years, starts in Estonia. Everyone living in Estonia is invited to complete an online questionnaire for the census by 22 January 2022. In February, census takers will call or visit the people for whom filling in the questionnaire is mandatory.

Households spent more on food, housing and household equipment but cut down on other expenses

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2020, the average expenditure per household member in a month was 477 euros, which is 12 euros less than in 2019. Compulsory expenditure, i.e. unavoidable food and housing expenses in the household budget, increased by seven euros year on year.
