According to Statistics Estonia, on 1 January 2022, the population of Estonia was 1,331,796, which is 1,728 persons more than at the same time a year ago. According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2022, Estonian accommodation establishments served nearly 249,000 tourists, which is 176% more than in May last year. Both the number of domestic and foreign tourists* increased.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2021, the total construction volume of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and abroad increased by 9% year on year. Considering only the Estonian construction market, the rise in construction volume was 10%.

According to Statistics Estonia, 1.25 million tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in the three summer months – June, July, August – of 2023, up by 1% from a year earlier but down by 12% from the summer of 2019. Compared with last summer, there were more foreign and fewer domestic tourists in accommodation establishments.
