According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, in November 2025, the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which includes the expenditures of tourists, decreased by 0.5% compared with October. Compared with November last year, the HICP rose by 4.7%. This is a flash estimate, which will be refined once more detailed data on November prices are received.

Entrepreneurs can now get a more comprehensive overview of their company’s financial data. The business viability index, created in cooperation between Statistics Estonia and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, brings together data collected from annual reports and tax declarations into one unified view on the eesti.ee portal.

According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which includes the expenditures of tourists, remained unchanged in October 2025 compared with September. Compared with October last year, the HICP rose by 4.5%. This is a flash estimate, which will be refined once more detailed data on October prices are received.

GDP flash estimate: economy grew by 0.9% in Q3

According to Statistics Estonia's preliminary estimate, Estonia's economy grew slightly in the third quarter of 2025. Compared with the third quarter of 2024, the gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 0.9%.

Consumer price index decreased in October

According to Statistics Estonia, the consumer price index decreased 2.2% in October 2009 compared to October 2008 and 0.1% compared to September 2009.

In September the decrease in stores selling manufactured goods affected most the retail sales

According to Statistics Estonia, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises decreased in September 2009 compared to August this year as well as compared to September of the previous year. The decrease in retail sales was most influenced by stores selling manufactured goods, where the decrease in sales slightly accelerated compared to the previous months.

The stable decrease in industrial production continues

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2009 compared to September of the previous year, the production of industrial enterprises decreased 30%. Since February the decrease in production has been within the limits of 30% compared to the same month of the previous year.

Sustainability in Estonia has both positive and negative trends

According to Statistics Estonia, during the last decade Estonia experienced a fast progress towards economic welfare, but the same cannot be said in regard to social coherence, ecological balance and developments in the cultural space. Nevertheless, both negative and positive trends can be witnessed in all these spheres.

In August the trade balance was positive with main countries of destination

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2009 Estonian trade deficit was 1.6 billion kroons. At the same time the trade balance with the five biggest countries of destination was positive (exports exceeded imports).

Construction price index fell also in the 3rd quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2009 the percentage change of the construction price index was -10.5% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2008. The index fell three quarters running compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Producer price indices in September

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2009 the producer price index increased 0.1% compared to August and decreased 1.5% compared to September 2008.

In August exports and imports decreased by nearly a third

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in August 2009 exports of goods from Estonia amounted to 7.8 billion kroons at current prices and imports to Estonia comprised 9.3 billion kroons.

In summer there were less tourists than a year ago

According to Statistics Estonia, during the three summer months in total more than half a million foreign tourists stayed in accommodation establishments, which was 3% less than at the same time in the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises decreased in August 2009 compared to July this year as well as compared to August of the previous year.

The trade of high-tech goods is showing a declining trend

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2008 exports of high-tech (HT) goods from Estonia totalled 4.6 billion kroons at current prices and imports of high-tech goods to Estonia amounted to 9.8 billion kroons. The share of HT goods in Estonia’s trade has significantly decreased during the last years.
