HICP flash estimate: prices up by 0.5% in July
According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, in July, the harmonised index of consumer prices, which takes into account the expenditures of tourists, rose by 0.5% compared with June. Compared with July 2025, the index rose by 2%. This is a flash estimate which will be refined once more detailed data on July prices are received.
GDP flash estimate: the economy grew by 2.1% in Q2
According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2026, the gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 2.1% compared with the same period of 2025.
Estonians’ assessment of the economy has improved, while confidence in the construction and trade sectors somewhat declined
Today, on 28 July, Statistics Estonia published the July data of the business and consumer surveys that measure the economic confidence of enterprises and consumers. The results show that the confidence of construction and trade enterprises has declined slightly, while assessments in other sectors and among consumers improved.
In May, there were 5% more accommodated tourists than the year before
According to Statistics Estonia, accommodation establishments served nearly 320,300 tourists in May 2026, which is 5% more than in May last year. Year on year, there were 9% more foreign tourists, and the number of domestic tourists remained at the same level.
The consumer price index has risen more slowly in the last three months
According to Statistics Estonia, in August, the consumer price index increased by 0.4% compared with July and by 1.5% compared with August 2025. Goods were 0.9% and services 2.4% more expensive than in August last year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in July, the consumer price index increased by 0.5% compared with June and by 2.2% compared with the same period in 2025. Goods were 1% and services 3.9% more expensive than in July last year.
Higher building material prices pushed up construction prices in the second quarter
According to Statistics Estonia, the construction price index, which expresses the change in the cost of construction activity, rose by 3.1% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the same period last year and by 1.9% compared with the first quarter of this year. In the second quarter, the index was most affected by the rise in the prices of building materials.

According to Statistics Estonia, in June, the consumer price index decreased by 0.5% compared with May and increased by 2.3% compared with June 2025. Goods were 1% and services 4.2% more expensive than in June last year.

Dwelling price index up by stat 3.4% in the first quarter (corrected on 19.06.2026)
According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2026, the dwelling price index increased by 3.4% compared with the previous quarter and by 5.9% compared with the first quarter of 2025. Year on year, there was a rise in the number of purchases of dwellings outside Tallinn.

Construction prices rose by 2% in the first quarter
According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2026, the construction price index increased by 2% compared with the first quarter of 2025 and by 0.5% compared with the fourth quarter of last year. The rise in employees’ wages had the biggest impact on the construction price index in the first quarter.
Increased fuel prices influenced the consumer price index for March
According to Statistics Estonia, in March, the consumer price index remained at the same level as in February and increased by 3.6% compared with March 2025. Goods were 3.4% and services 3.8% more expensive than in March last year.
