Estonia produces 71% of the meat consumed here

According to Statistics Estonia, 76,500 tonnes of meat were produced in Estonia in 2024, which is 1% more than the year before. The average annual meat production was 56 kg per person. Including imported meat, a total of 78 kg of meat per person were consumed during the year. 71% of the meat consumed in Estonia in 2024 was locally produced.

The situation in business sector improved last year

According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2010 the total profit of business sector was 2.0 billion euros (30.9 billion kroons), being about two times bigger than in the previous year. At the same time the total profit decreased more than a fifth compared to 2008 and about 40% compared to the record high 2007.

Construction volume decreased more than a tenth in the previous year

Construction volume decreased more than a tenth in the previous year According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2010 the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and in foreign countries amounted to 1.3 billion euros (20.1 billion kroons), which is 13% less than a year earlier. The construction volumes which had started to decline in 2008 kept decreasing in 2010, too.

Average monthly gross wages and salaries grew and year-end bonuses increased in the 4th quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 4th quarter of 2010, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 814 euros (12,735 kroons) and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 4.83 euros (75.63 kroons). Compared to the 4th quarter of 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 3.9% higher and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 1.9% higher.

Producer price indices increased in January

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2011, the change in the producer price index of industrial output was 0.6% compared to December and 5.5% compared to January of the previous year.
