Johanna Linda Pihlak, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the turnover volume of retail trade enterprises started to decline in May, after a period of growth since the beginning of the year. “This was due to stores selling manufactured goods where the volume of turnover was down by 5% year on year. The turnover volume of stores selling manufactured goods had not fallen since November 2025,” explained Pihlak. “The turnover volume of grocery stores did not start to rise in May – it remained at the same level as in May last year,” added Pihlak. Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that while turnover volume in June increased by 5% year on year, growth slowed down to 1% in July. “Year on year, turnover volume grew by 10% in enterprises engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel and by 3% in stores selling manufactured goods. The turnover volume of grocery stores continued to decline in July, falling by 5% compared with July 2024,” Pihlak added. According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in December 2013 was –0.1% compared to November 2013 and 1.4% compared to December of the previous year.

Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that retail trade volume started to grow again in January this year and the growth continued in February. “The growth rate, however, was slightly slower in February than in January,” she added. According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index was 0.6% in February 2013 compared to January and 3.7% compared to February of the previous year.

Eveli Šokman, the producer price statistics service manager at Statistics Estonia, said that, year on year, the producer price index declined in December after three months of trending upwards. “Compared with December 2024, the index was affected the most by falling prices in the manufacture of fuel oils and in electricity and heat energy production. Higher prices in the manufacture of wood and wood products, peat production, and the manufacture of food products had the opposite effect on the index,” added Šokman. According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2015, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,082 euros. Compared to the 1st quarter, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 7.1%, and compared to the 2nd quarter of 2014, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 5.8%.

In the first quarter, the total production value of Estonian construction enterprises was 799 million euros, including 603 million euros’ worth of building construction and 196 million euros’ worth of civil engineering.
