According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2025, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 907 million euros. Compared with November 2024, the volume of retail trade turnover remained at the same level.

The consumer price index rose by 4.8% last year

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2025, the consumer price index increased by 4.8% compared with the average of 2024. The price changes of food and non-alcoholic beverages had the biggest impact on the consumer price index in 2025.

Industrial production grew by 3.4% in November

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2025, the total production of industrial enterprises increased by 3.4% at constant prices compared with the same month of 2024. Among the three main sectors, output increased by 10% in mining and by 4.5% in manufacturing but decreased by 8.7% in energy production.

Working international students and graduates contributed nearly 23 million euros in taxes in the academic year 2023/2024

Although the number of international students in Estonia has decreased, their contribution to the Estonian economy has not fallen as much.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2013, the number of passengers served by Estonian transport enterprises and passenger turnover increased 8% and 2%, respectively. Freight volume increased 1% in tonnes, but fell 10% in tonne-kilometres.

The annual change of the Dwelling Price Index was the biggest of the last three years

According to Statistics Estonia, the Dwelling Price Index increased by 10.7% in 2013 compared to the average of the previous year. Compared to 2012, the prices of apartments increased by 13.3% and the prices of houses by 4.1%.

The producer price index of industrial output decreased in February

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2014, the producer price index of industrial output changed by -0.4% compared to January 2014 and by –0.9 % compared to February 2013.

In January, the number of foreign tourists in accommodation establishments increased

According to Statistics Estonia, 169,000 tourists used the services of accommodation establishments in January 2014. Compared to January of the previous year, the number of foreign tourists increased and the number of domestic tourists decreased.

Economic growth slowed down in 2013

According to Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia in 2013 increased 0.8% compared to the previous year. In the 4th quarter of 2013, the Estonian economy grew 0.3% compared to the 4th quarter of 2012.

In January foreign trade decreased

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2014, exports of goods decreased by 20% and imports by 15% at current prices compared to January 2013.

In the 4th quarter the number of job vacancies decreased

According to Statistics Estonia, there were 6,400 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 4th quarter of 2013. Their number decreased by 3.4% compared to the same period of 2012, and by a fourth compared to the previous quarter.

In February, the annual change of the consumer price index was mainly influenced by food

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in February 2014 was 0.1% compared to January 2014 and 0.6% compared to February of the previous year.

2013 was a successful year for the business sector

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2013 the total profit of the business sector was 3.1 billion euros, which was 5% more than the year earlier. The increase in the enterprise sector’s total profit continued for the fourth year in a row.

Census results in statistics map application

Today, on 5 March, Statistics Estonia launched an Internet-based map application, which enables to create thematic maps and perform spatial queries based on the results of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC).

In January industrial production was smaller than a year ago

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2014, the production of industrial enterprises decreased by 1% compared to January of the previous year. The decline in production was caused by a decrease in electricity production; however, the production in manufacturing and mining increased slightly.

At the beginning of the year retail sales accelerated to some extent

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2014 compared to January 2013, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 7% at constant prices.
