According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2025, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 907 million euros. Compared with November 2024, the volume of retail trade turnover remained at the same level.

The consumer price index rose by 4.8% last year

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2025, the consumer price index increased by 4.8% compared with the average of 2024. The price changes of food and non-alcoholic beverages had the biggest impact on the consumer price index in 2025.

Industrial production grew by 3.4% in November

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2025, the total production of industrial enterprises increased by 3.4% at constant prices compared with the same month of 2024. Among the three main sectors, output increased by 10% in mining and by 4.5% in manufacturing but decreased by 8.7% in energy production.

Although the number of international students in Estonia has decreased, their contribution to the Estonian economy has not fallen as much.

The Agricultural Census survey begins today

According to Statistics Estonia, starting today, 15 September, interviewers from Statistics Estonia will begin visiting households included on the census list for the Agricultural Census. Interviews will take place with households belonging to private persons that did not take part in the 1-10 September e-Census.

Production of renewable energy increased considerably in 2009

According to Statistics Estonia, the production of electricity from renewable sources increased nearly three times compared to the previous year.

In July more tourists in accommodation establishments than a year ago

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 357,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments of Estonia, which was 11% more than at the same time in the previous year.

In July exports of goods increased significantly

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2010, compared to July of the previous year exports of goods at current prices grew by 32% and imports by 24%. The turnover of exports of goods was bigger only in May this year.

1500 holdings have already participated in Agricultural Census

Consumer price index in August

According to Statistics Estonia, the consumer price index increased 2.9% in August 2010 compared to August of the previous year and 0.0% compared to July this year.

Only Latvians and Lithuanians eat more potatoes than Estonians

According to Statistics Estonia, Estonian resident consumes 188 grams of potatoes a day, Latvian and Lithuanian residents 274 and 234 grams, respectively. The data are based on the European food consumption database DAFNE (Data Food Networking), which since autumn 2010 also contains data on Estonia.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2010, the net sales, costs and total profit of the business sector increased compared to the previous quarter as well as to the same quarter of the previous year.

Agricultural Census starts on 1 September

According to Statistics Estonia, the Agricultural Census is conducted in Estonia from 1 September to 15 November, in the course of which the data on agricultural production will be collected from nearly 30,000 holdings. According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2010 compared to July of the previous year the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises decreased 1% at constant prices. The decrease of the retail sales in July was the smallest of the current year.
