In 2012, Statistics Estonia will collect the data from nearly 40,000 economic units. From now on, it is possible to check on the web site of Statistics Estonia whether the economic unit has been picked into the sample and has an obligation to submit the data.

Today, on 14 January, the Office of the Chancellor of Justice holds a seminar to present Statistics Estonia’s publication “Child Well-Being”. The publication covers all the main aspects of child well-being and gives an overview of child well-being in Estonia.

This week Statistics Estonia started to employ enumerators for the 2010 Agricultural Census. 150 persons will be employed to enumerate the land and animals.

According to Statistics Estonia, the first stage of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011), when the people can enumerate themselves on the web, will end on Sunday. Today, on 9 March, Statistics Estonia launches the Household Budget Survey of 2015, which collects data from households on their everyday expenditure and consumption. The previous survey was conducted in 2012.

By the afternoon of Saturday, 7 January, more than 200,000 persons had been enumerated online. This represents about 15% of the Estonian population. Participation rates are still the highest in Tartu and Harju counties.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2008 Estonian enterprises produced 1.5 times more wind power and by a third more hydro power compared to 2007. Since 2005, electricity production from renewable sources has gradually increased.
