Unemployment decreased in the 2nd quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2011, the unemployed persons numbered 92,000 and the unemployment rate was 13.3%. Nearly a third of the unemployed have been without work for two years or more.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2011, seven out of ten households in Estonia had Internet connection at home, most of them broadband connection. The percentage of households with Internet connection has slightly increased every year during the last five years.

Secure data interoperability Statistics Estonia received 1,099,300 euros via the innovation fund for the project “Secure data interoperability between sectors”. According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2011, the unemployed persons numbered 99,000 and the unemployment rate was 14.4%. More than a half of the unemployed are long-term unemployed who have been unemployed for a year or more.
