What is official statistics? Official statistics are public information that reflect the social situation and changes in the society. Official statistics are produced on the basis of the Official Statistics Act and in accordance with the principles and quality criteria laid down in Regulation (EC) No 223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council. The production of official statistics is guided by the needs of the society or the European Union statistical programme. According to Statistics Estonia, the percentage change of the construction price index in the 3rd quarter of 2013 was 1.4% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2013 and 5.3% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2012.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2011, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 809 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 4.82 euros. Compared to the 3rd quarter of the previous year, the average monthly gross wages and salaries grew 6.6% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries by 4.7%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2010, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 792 euros (12,397 kroons) and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 4.78 euros (74.84 kroons). Compared to 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 1.1% higher and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 0.4% lower.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2020, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,404 euros, which is 4.8% higher than the year before. In quarterly comparison, the increase is the most modest in recent years.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2010, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 11,874 kroons (759 euros) and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 72.00 kroons (4.60 euros). Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 0.9% higher and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 0.3% higher.

Compared to 2007, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 13.9% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries by 15.3%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2019, domestic and foreign tourists who stayed in accommodation establishments numbered 208,000, which is 1% more than in January 2018. Compared to January 2018, the number of domestic tourists increased and the number of foreign tourists decreased.
