According to the revised data of Statistics Estonia, in 2010 35 people more were born than died. The population of Estonia was 1,340,194 on 1 January 2011.
According to Statistics Estonia, on the basis of the first estimates of 2010 Agricultural Census the number of agricultural holdings has decreased almost three times as compared to the last, 2001 Agricultural Census. At the same time the agricultural area has increased 8%. It shows that agricultural activity is concentrating more and more into larger holdings.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 4th quarter of 2011, the unemployed persons numbered 79,000 and the unemployment rate was 11.4%. The annual average unemployment rate was the smallest during last three years.

According to Statistics Estonia, during the three summer months of 2011, for the first time more than one million foreign and domestic tourists stayed in accommodation establishments of Estonia. Compared to the previous summer, 14% more tourists used the services of accommodation establishments.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2008 exports of high-tech (HT) goods from Estonia totalled 4.6 billion kroons at current prices and imports of high-tech goods to Estonia amounted to 9.8 billion kroons. The share of HT goods in Estonia’s trade has significantly decreased during the last years.
According to the final results of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011), 1,294,455 permanent residents were enumerated in Estonia. The census results indicate the continued concentration of the population around major cities.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st half of 2011, nearly 1.2 million foreign and domestic tourists stayed in accommodation establishments, which was 15% more than in the same period of the previous year. The number of tourists in accommodation establishments exceeded also the first half-year result of 2008, i.e. the best year of the past decade, by 10%.
According to Statistics Estonia, during the three summer months 911,000 foreign and domestic tourists stayed in accommodation establishments of Estonia, which was 10% more than at the same time of 2009. 59,000 foreign tourists and 27,000 domestic tourists more stayed in accommodation establishments than last summer.
