According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2014, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 977 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 5.89 euros. Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2013, the average monthly gross wages increased by 5.0% and the average hourly gross wages by 5.6%.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2016, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,146 euros; compared to 2015, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 7.6%. The annual average monthly gross wages and salaries increased in all economic activities. The monthly gross wages and salaries were highest in the 4th quarter.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2013, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 949 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 5.73 euros. Compared to 2012, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased 7.0% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries increased 7.3%.
Absolute poverty means that a person’s income is below the absolute poverty threshold. The threshold is calculated on the basis of equivalised disposable income that takes into account the composition of the household (the weight of the first adult member is 1, the weight of each additional member aged at least 14 years is 0.7 and the weight of everyone under 14 years of age is 0.5), i.e. the total household income is divided by the sum of equivalence scales of household members. According to Statistics Estonia, in October, 289,000 tourists stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments, which is 5% more than in October 2018. The number of nights spent by tourists increased by 7%.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2017, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,153 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries 7.13 euros. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2016, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased 5.7% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries 3.9%. The year-over-year growth in average monthly gross wages and salaries was 1.2 percentage points slower than in the previous quarter and the year-over-year growth decelerated for the fourth successive quarter.
According to Statistics Estonia, there were nearly 10,600 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 4th quarter of 2017. Compared to the previous quarter, when the number of job vacancies was at its highest in recent years, in the 4th quarter, the number of job vacancies decreased 17%. Compared to the 4th quarter of 2016, the number of job vacancies increased also 17%.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2013, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 976 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 5.71 euros. Compared to the 2nd quarter of the previous year, the average monthly gross wages and salaries grew 8.5% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries 8.1%. The yearly growth of the average monthly wages and salaries in the 2nd quarter was to some extent faster than in the 1st quarter.
