According to Statistics Estonia, 458,800 tourists used the services of accommodation establishments in July 2015, which is 4% more than in July 2014. The number of both foreign and domestic tourists increased.
According to Statistics Estonia, in July, 524,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments, which is 4% more than in July 2018. The number of nights spent by foreign and domestic tourists increased by 7%.
Up to 3 November one can apply for the enumerator’s post at the Population and Housing Census starting at the end of the year. Most candidates are expected to Tallinn and Harju county, to the neighbourhood of Suure-Jaani and to the rural municipalities near Lake Peipus.
According to Statistics Estonia, the Immigrant Population Survey reveals that in case of immigrant occupational career the skill of the Estonian language is more important than the immigrant background.
Today, on 3 December, Statistics Estonia presents the publication “Eesti rahvastik. Hinnatud ja loendatud” (“Population of Estonia. Estimated and enumerated”), which summarises the results of the last population census and provides comparisons with other countries of the European Union.

Statistics Estonia reports that, according to the preliminary results of the Population and Housing Census, 157 native languages are spoken in Estonia. 68.5% of the population speak Estonian as the native language, with one tenth of the population able to speak an Estonian dialect.
According to Statistics Estonia, 64% of the gross value added of the Estonian gross domestic product (GDP) in 2017 was created in Harju county. However, the differences between counties as regards GDP per capita are getting smaller.
According to Statistics Estonia, during the three summer months of 2011, for the first time more than one million foreign and domestic tourists stayed in accommodation establishments of Estonia. Compared to the previous summer, 14% more tourists used the services of accommodation establishments.
