It is estimated that 17% of the native Estonian-speaking population speak a dialect. This is 2 percentage points more than in the previous census. The share of dialect speakers has increased the most in Hiiu and Saare counties, but it has not decreased in any county. 10% of dialect speakers speak more than one dialect.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2011, the net sales, costs and total profit of the business sector increased compared to the previous quarter as well as to the same quarter of the previous year. At the same time the continually improving comparison basis turns the growth rate slower.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2017, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,221 euros; compared to 2016, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased 6.5%. The annual average monthly gross wages and salaries increased in almost all economic activities. The average monthly gross wages and salaries were the highest in the 2nd and 4th quarters.

What kind of survey is it? The crop farming survey provides data about areas under cultivation and harvested areas of agricultural crops, production and yield, fertilisers, organic farming, liming, seed use, and autumn sowings of winter crops. A large part of the data are obtained from registers (for example, data on areas under cultivation received from the Agricultural Registers and Information Board and data on units that fill in the electronic field book in e-ARIB), and missing data are collected from respondents with the survey. According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2011 the total profit of the business sector was 2.8 billion euros, which is 40% more than the year before. The enterprises last earned a similar total profit in 2006 and 2008.
