Statistics Estonia's Adult Education Survey* shows that people take part in training to perform their jobs better. However, people attend an educational institution when they wish to improve their knowledge. In 19% of cases, a higher degree has also led to a new job or a higher salary. Robert Müürsepp, team lead of national accounts at Statistics Estonia, said that, compared with the previous quarter, the economy was stable. “Compared with the second quarter of 2024, the seasonally and working-day adjusted GDP was up by 0.1%,” noted Müürsepp. According to Eurostat , the EU economy showed slightly faster growth in the third quarter, as the increase in GDP was 0.9% year on year. According to Statistics Estonia, 713.5 tonnes of pesticides by active substance were placed on the market in Estonia in 2023, which is a tenth less than in 2022 and less than in the four previous years as well. The majority of pesticides sold were again herbicides.

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2024, Estonia’s exports of goods decreased by 14% and imports by 11% compared with June 2023. Exports of goods amounted to nearly 1.4 billion and imports to more than 1.6 billion euros at current prices. The trade deficit was 268 million euros, which is 20 million more than in June last year.

According to Statistics Estonia*, 93.2% of households in Estonia have an internet connection at home. The number of households with an internet connection has increased by 13,000 compared with the previous year, when there were 533,300 such households. There are also more users of e-commerce.
