In October, the number of tourists in accommodation establishments decreased

According to Statistics Estonia, more than 251,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in October 2023, which is 7% less than in October last year and 8% less than in September this year. Year on year, accommodation establishments hosted fewer foreign as well as domestic tourists.

Evelin Puura, the foreign trade statistics team lead at Statistics Estonia, pointed out that Estonia's exports were significantly affected by the re-exports of previously imported goods which increased by 30% year on year. “The rise in re-exports was mainly due to transport equipment,” Puura added. Exports of goods of Estonian origin grew by 4% compared with February last year, accounting for 65% of total exports. According to Statistics Estonia, in August, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 912 million euros. Compared with August 2022, turnover fell by 8% at constant prices.

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2023, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 12.6% at constant prices compared with a year earlier. Output declined in two of the three main sectors: by 29.2% in electricity production and by 12.4% in manufacturing. In mining, output increased by 1.6%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2021, the consumer price index fell by 0.2% compared to February and rose by 1.1% compared to March 2020. Goods were 0.5% and services 2% more expensive than in March last year.
