According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2010, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 11,865 kroons and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 74.46 kroons. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 2.3% lower and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 2.7% lower.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2012, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 855 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 5.21 euros. Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2011, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased 5.7% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries increased 8.1%.

Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, pointed out that the turnover volume of retail trade enterprises, which declined in August , returned to growth in September. “The increase in retail trade volume was mainly driven by enterprises engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel and also by stores selling manufactured goods. The turnover volume of grocery stores, however, continued to decline in September, falling by 5% compared with September 2024,” Pihlak explained. Lauri Veski, team lead of consumer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that, month on month, the overall rise in prices has been slowed down mainly by food products as their prices have fallen for two months in a row. In October, food products were 1.2% cheaper than in September. The biggest impact came from the fall in the prices of bread and bakery products (4.8%)

Statistics Estonia has organised public procurement for the purchase of 2,332 laptops which are going to be used in the conduct of the Population and Housing Census starting in December this year. According to the final results of the 2013 Farm Structure Survey, there were 19,200 agricultural holdings in Estonia, of which nearly 1,000 largest ones produce more than three-quarters of standard output, announces Statistics Estonia. At the same time, there are 4,500 agricultural holdings which do not produce agricultural products but only maintain their lands in good agricultural and environmental condition.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2009 the exports at current prices decreased 24% and imports 33% compared to 2008. Exports to Finland and Sweden decreased most by the trade value. In the last months of the year the decline in the trade slowed down.
