According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2019, enterprises sold goods and services for 16.4 billion euros, which was 5% more than in the same period the year before.

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, pointed out that unlike the balance of foreign trade in goods, the balance of foreign trade in services continues to show a surplus, which means that Estonian economic entities export significantly more services than they import. Economic entities include enterprises and non-profit entities, for instance, non-profit associations and state agencies. “In the second quarter, exports of services exceeded imports by €815 million. According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2009 63% of Estonian households had access to the Internet at home, compared to the same period of the previous year this indicator has increased five percentage points. Almost all enterprises with 10 and more persons employed had access to the Internet as in the previous three years.

The preparation of analytical output using anonymous data from electronic communications, with the purpose to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), which was assigned to Statistics Estonia by the order of the crisis commission of the Government of the Republic, will not be based on real-time data. There is no plan and it is not possible to use the data to analyse the movement of individuals.

According to Statistics Estonia, there were nearly 9,000 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 4th quarter of 2016. Compared to the 3rd quarter, when the number of job vacancies reached a 7-year high, in the 4th quarter, the number of job vacancies decreased by 18%. Compared to the 4th quarter of 2015, the number of job vacancies increased by 37%.
