Supply of enterprises The publication of short-term statistics of enterprises ended in March 2024. . The interactive charts provide an overview of the situation of enterprises on the basis of VAT returns. According to the preliminary calculations of Statistics Estonia, in 2008 the gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 3.6% compared to the previous year. In the 4th quarter, GDP decreased by 9.7% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in December 2009 compared to December of the previous year the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises decreased 15% at constant prices. The decline in retail sales which had stood within the limits of 17% during the previous months slowed down to some extent in December.
Older women are facing greater risk of poverty

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2008 the at-risk-of-poverty rate of older women was over two times higher than that of older men. 41% of women aged 65 and older and 19% of men of the same age lived in relative poverty.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2014, more than 3 million domestic and foreign tourists stayed in accommodation establishments, which was 4% more than in 2013. The number of both foreign and domestic tourists increased.
Production of cereals increased year on year

The total area of utilised agricultural land did not change considerably in 2017. Production of field crops was higher than in the previous year, but a lot of production was not harvested. The number of pigs increased and the number of cattle also increased slightly. Less meat but more milk and eggs were produced than in the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, by adjusted data, the number of population in Estonia decreased by about 3,000 persons in 2011 and on 1 January 2012 it totalled 1,318,000 persons.
